Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez can hear it in the silence.
When it came to celebrating their second wedding anniversary July 16, neither the Good Will Hunting star nor the Hustlers actress, who have been the subject of split rumors over the last few months, were getting loud. In fact, they spent the day on opposite coasts.
For her part, Jennifer—who shares 16-year-old twins Emme and Max with ex Marc Anthony—spent the day in the Hamptons, which saw her sporting a very beach chic outfit in a pair of white overalls, brown flip flops, gold hoop earrings with her hair tied up in a bun. The 54-year-old—who was wearing her wedding ring—rode her bike through the streets of the New York coastal town, and later went for a drive with her manager Benny Medina in a vintage convertible.
Meanwhile, Ben—who shares kids Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12 with ex Jennifer Garner—was continuing with business as usual in Los Angeles. The 51-year-old stepped out on the opposite coast in a gray suit paired with a white button-up. Always on brand, the Dunkin connoisseur carried an unlabeled cup of iced coffee and a black duffel bag.
In addition to spending the special day apart, Jennifer—who recently shared a video of her spending time with stepdaughter Violet—did not share any posts in honor of the happy couple for their latest milestone. Instead, the J.Lo Beauty founder took the opportunity to promote her brand’s Amazon Prime Day deals (The platform’s sales event began on July 16 and ended the next day).
But J.Lo’s lack of acknowledgement on her Instagram does suit Ben’s style. The Air director—who does not have any public facing social media—previously spoke out about how his and the “On the Floor” singer’s desire for privacy tend to differ when it comes to their relationship.
“Getting back together, I said, 'Listen, one of the things I don't want is a relationship on social media,'” Ben explained of the couple’s 2021 rekindling in The Greatest Love Story Never Told. “We're just two people with different approaches trying to learn to compromise.”
Indeed, over the last few months, Jennifer—who has reportedly been living apart from Ben and recently put their $60.8 million home on the market—has kept mum about her personal life. Especially when it comes to rumors about the state of her marriage. As she put it when a fan consulted her about the rumors at an Atlas press event in May, they “know better” than to speculate.
